According to the Taiwan media Economic Daily, UMC's financial report showed that the company's revenue in November was NT $22.545 billion, an increase of 14.67% over the same period last year, but a decrease of 7.39% over October, showing a recession for three consecutive months; The accumulated consolidated revenue in the first November was NT $257.759 billion, an annual increase of 33.74%.

Earlier, UMC General Manager Wang Shi said at the French conference that in the fourth quarter, the capacity utilization rate might drop to 90%, the wafer shipment volume would decrease by about 10%, the average product price would be flat, and the gross margin would be about 41% to 43%. Wang Shi pointed out that in the fourth quarter, the demand of the car market remained stable, the computer and smartphone markets continued to de inventory, and the 12 inch demand was relatively healthy compared with the 8 inch demand. For 22nm and 28nm processes, the demand for image signal processor (ISP) and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) driven IC will continue to increase.

In addition, UMC reduced its capital expenditure this year to US $3 billion. As for the plant construction plan this year, Wang Shi said that in order to meet the long-term needs of customers, the capacity deployment of Tainan and Singapore plants is still ongoing.
