IMT Announces 8-Chip Wafer MEMS Processing Services
Beijing, China, June 12, 2019 – Innovative Micro Technology, Inc. (IMT) has officially announced that the company is now able to provide 8-inch (200mm) wafer micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) processing services, while the company can also Providing an unprecedentedly rich mix of resources for the MEMS industry. 8-inch wafers have changed the economics of MEMS device manufacturing, and each wafer can produce twice as many devices as a 6-inch wafer.
Providing 8-inch wafer processing services to customers is another result of IMT's ongoing capital improvement program, which completed a new round of fundraising last fall. IMT has continued to upgrade its 130,000 square foot production facility and the 30,000 square foot Class 100 manufacturing clean room.
Since 2000, IMT has been a pioneer in the design and manufacture of MEMS devices, and has completed more than 500 projects to date. MEMS technology leverages the precision and industry scale of semiconductor wafer processing to fabricate nanoscale structures on silicon or glass, dramatically improving the performance of devices that require physical functionality.
