Gartner: Apple surpasses Samsung in 2019 to become the largest semiconductor buyer
According to foreign media reports, the latest data from authoritative research agency Gartner shows that in 2019 Apple Inc. has regained the title of the world's largest buyer of semiconductor chips.
Data show that Apple's semiconductor spending last year was 36.13 billion US dollars, surpassing Samsung and becoming the world's largest semiconductor buyer again. Samsung Electronics ranked second with semiconductor spending of US $ 33.405 billion.
Gartner said in the report that due to the decline in memory chip prices, the world's leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) reduced semiconductor spending in 2019.
