Bourns Launches Automotive Grade High Isolation Flyback Transformer Series

Bourns, a globally recognized leader in electronic components manufacturing, has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of the AEC-Q200-compliant HVMA03F40C-ST10S automotive-grade flyback transformer. Designed for high power density and enhanced efficiency within a compact footprint, Bourns continues to develop advanced high-isolation flyback and gate drive transformers to address the growing demand for power density in automotive, industrial, and energy storage applications.

The Bourns® HVMA transformer series offers features that make it an ideal solution for powering across voltage isolation systems in electric vehicles, transistor gate drives, high-voltage battery management systems, and hybrid vehicles. This series is also highly suited to support wide bandgap designs using high-frequency silicon carbide (SiC), insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), and gallium nitride (GaN) switching components.

Bourns leverages its extensive expertise in developing miniaturized advanced magnetic structures. This latest transformer meets IEC standards for isolation and high electrical clearance/creepage distances, incorporating cutting-edge mechanical and electrical designs to enhance system performance and safety.

The Bourns® HVMA03F40C-ST10S flyback transformer is available in a surface-mount package with a 10 mm creepage distance. It enables designers to support working voltages up to 900 V on existing platforms or streamline the development of new ones. Additionally, this 3-watt flyback transformer supports a switching frequency range of 100 kHz to 400 kHz and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +155°C.
