Allegro Expands Motor Control and Thermal Management Solutions to Meet Growing EV and Automation Demand

Allegro MicroSystems, Inc., a global leader in motion control, efficient power, and sensing solutions, today announced three new products designed to boost performance and energy efficiency in electric vehicles and industrial automation. The new offerings include the ACS37035 and ACS37630 current sensors and the A89347 automotive-grade fan driver, all aimed at enhancing functionality across a range of demanding applications.

“Our latest motor control and thermal management solutions reflect Allegro’s ongoing commitment to driving efficiency and performance in automotive and industrial systems through innovation,” said Ram Sathappan, Allegro’s Vice President of Global Marketing and Applications. “With industry-leading precision and noise immunity, the ACS37035 and ACS37630 enable accurate current sensing in high-performance systems like robots, industrial motors, and EV traction inverters. The A89347 fan driver ensures quiet, reliable operation in applications like EV seat and battery cooling. These advanced technologies not only simplify design and boost system-level efficiency, but also empower customers to innovate and create real value.”

The ACS37035 sensor offers 1 MHz bandwidth and a 0.45 µs typical response time for high-frequency current measurement in fast control loops. With differential sensing and a 4 mA/Gauss CMRR, it maintains accuracy in noisy environments. The sensor delivers ±3% sensitivity error and a maximum offset of ±15 mV across temperature ranges, enhancing system performance in motor control, load monitoring, and switch-mode power supplies.

The ACS37630 is tailored for U-core magnetic current sensing in xEV traction inverters and battery management systems. It provides high bandwidth up to 250 kHz, a fast 1.6 µs response, and uses vertical Hall technology to detect magnetic fields parallel to the package surface—eliminating the need for bulky C-core magnets. With ±0.7% sensitivity and ±5 mV offset, it ensures precise current measurement across –50°C to +150°C, helping reduce design complexity and cost.

The A89347 is a sensorless, automotive-grade sine-wave three-phase BLDC driver designed for EV seat and battery cooling fans. It includes closed-loop speed control for reduced noise and vibration, programmable speed curves via EEPROM, and ultra-low standby current at 10 µA. Featuring slew rate control and lock detection, this AEC-Q100-qualified IC enables quieter, more efficient operation and extended battery life in demanding automotive environments.
