The demand for 5G smartphones has risen sharply, and the supply of the inductor market is in short supply

According to the Taiwan Media Economic Daily, due to the market's general expectations that the demand for 5G smartphones will increase sharply next year, coupled with the hot sales of the iPhone11 series, Delta ’s passive component maker Qiankun Inductance is in short supply. Changchun Chuntiao revealed that "many customers are squatting in the factory", and under the condition of full load, Qiankun plans to expand production by 50%. Starting in December this year, new production capacity has been started.

It is reported that, due to the continued sales of Apple ’s iPhone 11 series by Delta ’s major customers, Qiankun ’s production capacity has been almost completely covered by it, even with zero inventory.

According to Liu Chuntiao, although it is the off-season of the industry, high-end inductors are still out of stock due to the strong demand for smartphones, which makes the Qiankun factory fully loaded.

In order to cope with the current market conditions, Qiankun will launch an expansion plan for inductors. After the implementation of the expansion plan, it is expected to increase by 40% to 50% compared to the existing capacity. Liu Chuntiao added that the expansion is not limited to a single plant, but to all factories together. The new production capacity will be started in December this year.

It is understood that Qiankun is mainly engaged in inductors and is currently the global leader in the mobile phone industry. Shipments of more than one billion units per month supply 10 million mobile phones. Among the relevant inductor suppliers, the supply exceeds Taiyo Yuden, Murata Manufacturing, etc. Well-known Japanese factory.
