According to reports, Globalfoundries and Toppan have signed a multi-year supply agreement, in which Toppan will provide Globalfoundries with photomasks and related services currently supported by the photomask manufacturing plant in Burlington, Vermont, USA. As part of the agreement, Toppan will acquire some of the assets of the Greenwich Burrington Photomask facility.
Globalfoundries did not mention the specific amount of the transaction. After selling to Toppan, they still have to cooperate with the latter. Toppan supplies photomask products and services from US fabs.
According to the agreement, AMTC, the former Dresden Advanced Photomask Center of the two parties, will accept assets such as GF factory's photomask manufacturing equipment, and the two parties will cooperate to complete this transfer in the next few months.
