Flotilla Modules

Powered by the Raspberry Pi, Pimoroni has blended smart widgets and even smarter software to make Flotilla friendly for everyone

Pimoroni's Flotilla is a great time saving prototyping or training tool with plug-and-play simplicity, code libraries, example projects, and full documentation. Centered on the Flotilla Dock with an ATMEGA32A4U microcontroller, up to eight additional sensor and control modules can be added with a simple plug-and-play interface.

Flotilla expansion modules include:

• Rainbow - featuring five 5050 RGB LEDs and an SN3218 driver IC
• Motion - detects movement in three axis and compass heading via a LSM303 accelerometer/magnetometer
• Touch - CAP1166 driver IC with four capacitive touch buttons and four white LEDs
• Number - four digit, seven segment display with IS31FL3730 matrix driver
• Color - contains a TCS3472 color and ambient light sensor with two bright white LEDs for illumination
• Weather - BMP280 sensor for temperature and pressure sensing
• Matrix - 8 x 8 white LED matrix with IS31FL3730 matrix driver
• Light - utilizes a TSL258 ambient light sensor
• Joystick - analog joystick with click button
• Dial - has a rotary potentiometer and five white LEDs
• Motor - uses a DRV8830 motor driver to control the onboard 298:1 bidirectional DC motor
• Slider - a slide potentiometer with five white LEDs on board

Setup is quick and can be accomplished easily by following the guide at Getting Started with Flotilla and tools are provided to progress as users develop their skills. Novices can begin with Cookbook, move to Rockpool and progress through scratch to a full python coding experience.

Pimoroni’s Flotilla boards are available for purchase individually or in kits of modules. These include:
